Sechs Jahre und 360 ECTS-Punkte umfasst der Studiengang. Zu Beginn stehen zwei vorklinische Jahre mit Anatomie, Physiologie, Biochemie, Histologie und Embryologie, ergänzt um studienbegleitenden Kroatischunterricht. Ab dem dritten Jahr geht es in den klinischen Abschnitt: Innere Medizin, Chirurgie, Pädiatrie, Gynäkologie, Neurologie und Psychiatrie werden mit Praktika am Klinischen Krankenhauszentrum Rijeka verbunden. Das letzte Jahr besteht überwiegend aus praktischer Arbeit und entspricht dem deutschen Praktischen Jahr.
