Your elective takes place at Lanka Hospitals, one of Sri Lanka's leading private hospital groups and accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI). As an elective student you join the ward teams, take histories, examine patients and follow cases from admission to discharge.
Tropical and infectious diseases such as dengue, leptospirosis and typhoid are part of everyday practice in Sri Lanka, experience you will hardly get at home. Doctors and nurses work in English, which makes Sri Lanka one of the easiest places in Asia for an international elective.

Sri Lanka requires an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) for most nationalities. It is applied for online before departure; we send you the step-by-step guide with your confirmation.
