Clinical Electives Abroad

A clinical elective is a placement at a hospital or clinic outside your home university. It lets medical, dental and nursing students gain hands-on experience in a different healthcare system, usually during the later years of their studies.

You see conditions that are rare at home, work alongside experienced clinicians, explore a specialty before choosing your career path and add international experience to your CV. Many students also build contacts that last for years.

1. Choose your location and discipline above.
2. Send the booking request for your group on the location page, at least 5 months before your start date. No registration fee.
3. We confirm your placement and send you all details.
4. You pay the full amount at once or in monthly instalments until your departure date.
5. You start your elective with our team available throughout your stay.

No, our electives are booked in groups only. Foča and Marrakech take teams of exactly 2 students, Sri Lanka and Antigua take groups of 5 or 10 students. Group members can come from different universities. If you are still looking for partners, mention it in your booking request.

At least 5 months before your preferred start date. This gives us time to arrange your placement, supervisors and paperwork, and gives you time to pay in instalments if you prefer.

If you find the same elective offered cheaper elsewhere, we match the price and take a further 5% off.
