Press Release: Medschool Experts Has Been an Official Partner Agency of the Academy of Silesia in Katowice Since 2025
17.09.2026
How long has the partnership been in place?
Medschool Experts has been an official partner agency of the Academy of Silesia in Katowice since 2025, placing and supporting students on the university's English-taught programmes.
What is new?
The Academy of Silesia offers a study start in the summer semester. Medschool Experts places students for this intake with immediate effect.
This is more than a shift in the calendar. Most European universities admit students in the autumn only. Anyone who is unsuccessful in the admissions process there, gets their paperwork together too late or simply makes up their mind in the winter has to wait a full year. A February start closes that gap.
The location
The Academy of Silesia offers human medicine in English at €14,000 per year, as well as nursing and computer science at €3,000 per year each.
Katowice is the centre of the Silesian metropolitan region, home to 2.7 million people, and sits centrally between Vienna, Prague and Berlin. The airport is 30 kilometres away; Wizz Air flies from Dortmund, Memmingen and Frankfurt-Hahn in around an hour and a half. For free time, climbing in the Jura region near Kraków and skiing in the Beskid Mountains are both within easy reach.
On recognition
Poland is a member of the European Union. The degree is automatically recognised in Germany, Austria and the other member states under Directive 2005/36/EC — with no equivalence assessment or knowledge test. For Switzerland, the Agreement on the Free Movement of Persons applies, with licensing through MEBEKO.
{{cta}}Marcel Kloos on what this means
The summer semester start is the feature I rate most highly about this location. In consultations I see the same situation every year: someone decides in November that medicine is the right path after all — and would then have had to wait until October of the following year. A February start solves exactly that problem.
To be fair, one thing should be said: starting in the summer semester also means a slightly different study rhythm than for the standard cohort. That is not a drawback, but it is worth knowing before you enrol.
Summary
If you are considering studying medicine abroad, simply get in touch with us. We have the largest choice of official partner universities, and we check every profile individually to find where the highest possible entry point is available — often entry into the final two years. Your first consultation is free of charge.
