Press Release: Medschool Experts Enters Into Partnerships with Two Universities in Tbilisi
17.09.2026
What has been agreed?
Medschool Experts is the official partner agency of New Vision University and European University in Tbilisi. Both universities run English-taught medical programmes with a standard duration of six years.
Who is the offer aimed at?
Unlike our European locations, the focus here is explicitly outside Europe. We primarily place prospective students from Iran and India.
For these groups of applicants, Georgia is attractive for several reasons: teaching in English, comparatively straightforward entry conditions, moderate living costs and an established international student body in Tbilisi.
On recognition — stated plainly
Georgia is not part of the European Union. Automatic recognition under Directive 2005/36/EC does not apply there. Anyone who later wants to work in the EU goes through an individual equivalence assessment.
That is why Tbilisi also plays a second role in our programme: as an affordable entry point with a later transfer to a European partner university, for example to the University of East Sarajevo. Whether that route works in an individual case is something we clarify before enrolment — not afterwards.
{{cta}}Marcel Kloos on what this means
These two partnerships are deliberately set up differently from our European ones. For applicants from the German-speaking region who later want to work in Germany or Switzerland, I would not usually recommend Georgia as a first choice — for them, EU locations are the more direct route.
For prospective students from Iran or India, the calculation looks different. They face a recognition procedure anyway, wherever they study. What then counts is access, language and cost — and on those, Tbilisi is strong.
Anyone planning Georgia as an entry point with a later transfer to Europe should set it up that way from the start. A transfer improvised in the third year rarely ends well.
