Where can you study medicine in Greece?

• Aristotle University of Thessaloniki — largest university in Greece, with a medical faculty and its own hospital network. To the location article.

The programme lasts six years and leads to an EU degree. Instruction is predominantly in Greek, and tuition fees at state universities are low.

Why do students transfer out of Greece?

Greek as the language of instruction and clinical practice

Those who do not command the language at a high level lose time — in the pre-clinical phase when studying, and later in patient contact. At a university with fully English-language instruction, this barrier disappears.

One subject becomes the bottleneck

Failing an exam can mean being unable to complete the academic year. Passed subjects are creditable, and an outstanding subject is completed at the target university.

Something has changed personally

Family, relationship, finances, relocation — legitimate reasons for a change of location and no reason to abandon the degree.

How a transfer works with us

You do not have to work out any of this yourself, and that is the point of coming to us. Everything else — comparing curricula, the recognition of what you have already passed, the paperwork with both universities — is our job.

What you get back is a clear answer: at which university, in which country, we can place you, and at which year of study. We deliberately publish no requirement lists or dates here, because they differ by university and by intake and because your own record is what actually decides. Where can you transfer to from Greece?

MediCampus Europeo, Malta

University of East Sarajevo, Faculty of Medicine Foča (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

One of our core locations, for which we hold representation in the German-speaking region. State faculty with its own university hospital, medicine and dentistry in English, listed in ANABIN, EU-compliant accreditation until 2033. 3,500 EUR per academic year, and the practical year can optionally be completed entirely at a German teaching hospital. University of Niš, Faculty of Medicine (Serbia)

Large state university with its own university hospital, medicine in English, 360 ECTS, MD degree. 1,500 EUR per quarter, i.e. 6,000 EUR per academic year. To the Niš location article.

The level of placement depends on the individual case

Every pathway mentioned here is designed to get you the highest possible year of study — with no or minimal loss of time, and in many cases that means entering in one of the last two years. What is achievable in your case depends on your own record, so we look at it properly rather than guessing. Beyond the locations named above, we work with the largest network of official partner universities we know of, covering medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing and veterinary medicine. If none of these three is the right fit for you, there is very likely another one that is.

What the transfer means financially

Tuition fees at Greek state universities are low — so the transfer brings no price advantage here, but rather solutions for language, study pace and predictability. Foča costs 3,500 EUR per academic year, Niš 6,000 EUR, Malta 14,500 EUR; living costs in Foča and Niš realistically amount to 450 to 500 EUR per month. Our placement fee is success-based: if no study place materialises, you incur no costs.
