According to the ACS website in 2026, the Degree in Medicine and the Degree in Dental Medicine are delivered in partnership with the Medical University of Plovdiv in Bulgaria, and the qualification is awarded by that university rather than issued as a Maltese degree by ACS itself. ACS holds a Maltese institutional licence, number 2020-009, for its own accredited programmes.

Why this matters is purely practical. When you apply for a transfer, a receiving faculty looks at two things: which institution holds your academic record, and which institution will issue or has issued your diploma. If those are different bodies in different countries, both need to be named correctly from the start. Ask ACS in writing which institution holds your ECTS record and which one issues the final diploma, and keep that answer.
