PG in India after MBBS abroad

The way home has three stages. First you clear FMGE, which NExT is planned to replace. Then you complete the 12-month Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship and receive permanent registration. With that you are eligible for NEET PG and compete for MD, MS and DNB seats like every other graduate. NEET PG is a ranking exam, so the work you put into the Indian syllabus during your years abroad pays off twice. Start with our FMGE exam guide.

PG in Germany after MBBS abroad

Germany needs doctors, and specialist training there is a paid job from the first day. Resident doctors at university and municipal hospitals earn more than 5,000 € gross per month in their first year. There is no entrance exam for a training post; you apply to hospitals directly. What you need is the German medical licence, and for that German at B2 level, the medical language exam and recognition of your degree. A degree from an EU country such as Bulgaria is recognised automatically. Degrees from other countries are assessed individually and may require a knowledge exam. Our MedPathway Germany programme covers licence, exam preparation and job search, and it is free for our students.

Tip from our students: start German in your second year abroad. Two lessons a week are enough to reach B2 by graduation, and you enter a German hospital while your classmates are still preparing for entrance exams.

PG in the UK after MBBS abroad

For the United Kingdom you register with the General Medical Council. International graduates take PLAB 1, a written test, and PLAB 2, a practical exam held in the UK, and prove their English with IELTS or OET. Your university has to be listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools. After registration you work in the National Health Service and apply for specialty training.

PG in the USA after MBBS abroad

The American route runs through the USMLE. You take Step 1 and Step 2 CK during or after your studies, obtain ECFMG certification and apply for residency through the Match. Clinical experience in US hospitals and strong letters of recommendation count for a lot. If the USA is your goal, choose a university that prepares you for it, such as the Mostar School of Medicine with integrated USMLE preparation. The exam is explained in USMLE for international medical graduates.
