Cheapest Medical Schools in Europe in English

A full medical degree in English for a fraction of US tuition. Here are the most affordable English-taught medical schools in Europe that still keep your path to a US residency open.

A US medical degree can easily cost more than a house. So it makes sense to ask what the cheapest decent option is. But "cheap" alone is the wrong filter. A school that saves you 20,000 € and then blocks you from the USMLE is the most expensive mistake you can make. Every school on this page is English-taught and USMLE-eligible. Only then do we sort by price.

Why the cheapest school isn't always the best deal

Price is one number. What you should really compare is price against what you get back. A few things matter more than a couple of thousand euros a year:

  • How well the school prepares you for USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK
  • Whether you can do clinical electives in the US
  • How much hands-on patient contact you get
  • Whether the city is a place you can happily live for six years

A student who thrives in Hradec Králové and scores well on Step 2 CK got a better deal than one who saved money and struggled. We help you find the balance that fits your budget and your goals.

How to make it even cheaper

Several of our partner universities give reduced tuition to students we place. At eligible schools you can also use US federal Direct Loans. And shared apartments bring living costs down noticeably in every one of these cities.
