Study Medicine in Poland as an American
Poland offers US Americans an English-taught six-year MD with an EU degree, tuition from about 12,000 € per year and some of the lowest living costs in the European Union. Here is how admission works and how you get back to a US residency.
A few years ago hardly any American thought about Poland for medical school. Now it's one of the most popular choices in Europe, and a lot of US and Canadian students are part of that. The reasons are simple. You get a six-year MD in English, big teaching hospitals with lots of patients and an EU degree that qualifies you for the USMLE. And your monthly bills stay low. Dollar for dollar, it's one of the best-value ways to become a doctor.

Admission to Polish medical schools
Most Polish medical universities look at your high school grades in biology and chemistry. Some add an entrance test or a short interview. Many take applications from spring until late summer, so you have some breathing room. We go through your US transcript, pick the schools where you fit best and handle the apostille, the application and your Polish residence permit.
From Poland to a US residency
With the USMLE, ECFMG certification and US clinical electives, graduates of Polish medical schools apply for US residency like any other IMG. As a US citizen you need no visa. See IMG residency match for the full process.
