Study Transfer from Belarus: from Minsk, Vitebsk, Grodno and Gomel to Europe
28.08.2026
From which universities do we facilitate transfers?
From all four: Belarusian State Medical University in Minsk, Vitebsk State Medical University, Grodno State Medical University, and Gomel State Medical University. An overview with tuition fees is in the article Studying Medicine in Belarus.
Why students from Belarus transfer to Europe
The recognition situation
Belarus is not an EU member, and representation rights in the European Higher Education Area have been suspended since 2022 — this complicates the recognition of documents in the European sphere. The recognition pathway itself has been clearly regulated since the reform of March 2026: from November 1, 2026, the oral knowledge examination under Section 3 of the Federal Medical Licensing Act serves as the standard route to nationwide licensing. Details in the article Approbation and Recognition.
Language in clinical operations
The universities run English- and Russian-language tracks in parallel, but clinics operate in Russian. Those who notice they are only observing at the bedside lose learning time exactly where it matters most.
Planning reliability for travel and payment
Flights, bank transfers, and residence formalities have become more complex from German-speaking countries. Over four or five remaining years of study, this is a factor that should be soberly factored in.
How do you find the right university — and get in?
Not from a list. What a receiving university wants to see, and how far along it will take you, differs from university to university and is rewritten every year. Anything we published here would be out of date before you could act on it — and it would still not tell you where you would be accepted.
So the sequence runs the other way round. You send us your profile: what you have studied in Belarus, what you have already completed, and which countries you would consider. We check it against our partner universities and come back to you with the places where we can get you in reliably — which university, in which country, and at what cost.
Because you already carry completed study with you, we also check the highest possible entry point for your file; continuing in one of the final two years of a programme is not unusual for transfer students. Behind that stands the largest selection of official partner universities for medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing and veterinary medicine. Book a free study consultation.

Where can you transfer from Belarus?
University of East Sarajevo, Medical Faculty Foca (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
State faculty with its own university hospital, human medicine and dentistry in English, listed in ANABIN, EU-conformally accredited until 2033. 3,500 euros per academic year, practical year optionally completed entirely at a German teaching hospital. Credit transfers here typically result in very high placement. To the Foca study guide.
University of Niš, Faculty of Medicine (Serbia)
Large state university with its own university hospital, human medicine in English, 360 ECTS, degree MD. 6,000 euros per academic year, payable quarterly. To the Niš location article.
MediCampus Europeo, Malta
EU location with English as official language. 14,500 euros per year with lump-sum payment. To the Valletta location article.
The complete list of all numerus clausus-free options in Europe can be found in the study transfer article on Bulgaria.
How far along you continue is an individual question
All pathways named here are designed to enable you to achieve the highest possible credit placement through us — without or with minimal time loss. What that means concretely depends on your own record, on the university and on the year, which is why we read your documents instead of publishing a rule that would not hold for your case. Send them to us and we will tell you where we can place you, and how far along.
What the transfer means financially
Belarus is at 4,300 to 7,000 US dollars per academic year. Foca costs 3,500 euros, Niš 6,000 euros — the transfer is therefore price-neutral to cheaper. The real gain lies in recognition and planning reliability. Our placement fee is success-based.
Why it pays to get in touch early
- Places are limited — the earlier we see your file, the more universities are still open to you.
- Being enrolled is the stronger starting position — the conversation is easier before the next resit than after it.
- Nothing about it commits you — reviewing your documents takes a few days and costs nothing.

Author's Opinion
I am not evaluating politics here, but an educational decision. And the situation is clear: if a country's representation rights in the European Higher Education Area are suspended, recognition of a diploma obtained there in Europe does not become easier.
The Belarusian universities are not responsible for this, and their graduates even less so. Nevertheless, it is fairer to say this openly than to leave someone for six years under the assumption that it will work itself out. Those who want to go to Europe should transfer early.
Summary
Moving from Belarus to a European university is not a step backwards. It is a decision about where you finish — and for anyone who wants to work in Germany, Austria or Switzerland afterwards, it is usually the easier ground to build on.
We publish no transfer requirements, document lists or date tables here. They differ from university to university and are rewritten every year, and what is right for one student is wrong for the next.
Send us your profile instead — what you have studied, what you have already completed, and which countries you would consider. We will then tell you concretely at which university, in which country, we can place you and where we can get you in reliably, drawing on the largest selection of official partner universities for medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing and veterinary medicine. For students transferring, we also check the highest possible entry point; continuing in one of the final two years of a programme is not unusual.

Frequently Asked Questions About Study Transfer from Belarus
From which universities do you facilitate transfers?
From all four state universities: Minsk, Vitebsk, Grodno, and Gomel.
Does what I have studied so far count for anything in Europe?
Yes. How much of it carries over is decided individually, university by university — we check that for you and tell you where, and how far along, we can place you.
I am studying in the Russian-language track — is that possible?
Yes. The language you were taught in is not what decides the outcome. At our partner universities, teaching then continues in English.
What does the EHEA suspension mean for me?
It complicates the recognition of the diploma in the European sphere. Continuing at a European university takes that problem off the table.
Do I need to leave my university first?
No — and you shouldn't. Talk to us while you are still enrolled; that is the stronger starting position.
Which year of study can I continue in?
That is an individual question, decided on your own record and university by university. We check the highest possible entry point for you, and continuing in one of the final two years of a programme is not unusual. Send us your documents and we will tell you what is realistic in your case.
What does the consultation cost?
Nothing. The initial consultation and document review are free of charge.
