Why students from Kyrgyzstan transfer to Europe

The accreditation situation

Anyone enrolled at a university that is no longer permitted to train students must transfer anyway. The redistribution within the country being offered is one option — a transfer to Europe is the other, and for those who later want to work in German-speaking countries, usually the more sustainable one.

Language in the clinical phase

Classes are in English, but clinical everyday life runs in Russian and Kyrgyz. Those who notice they are only observing at the bedside lose learning time exactly where it matters most.

The recognition pathway is regulated

Kyrgyzstan belongs neither to the EU nor to the European Higher Education Area and remains a third country. Since the reform of March 2026, this is no longer a disadvantage: from November 1, 2026, the oral knowledge examination under Section 3 of the Federal Medical Licensing Act serves as the standard route to nationwide licensing. Where can you transfer from Kyrgyzstan?

University of East Sarajevo, Medical Faculty Foča (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

State faculty with its own university hospital, human medicine and dentistry in English, listed in ANABIN, EU-conformally accredited until 2033. 3,500 euros per academic year, start in November, practical year optionally completed entirely at a German teaching hospital. MediCampus Europeo, Malta

EU location with English as official language. Campus in Il-Furjana near Valletta, Maltese MFHEA license. Transfer from the second year of study, 14,500 euros per year with lump-sum payment, start in October. To the Valletta location article.

University of Niš, Faculty of Medicine (Serbia)

Large state university with its own university hospital, human medicine in English, 360 ECTS, degree MD. 1,500 euros per quarter, i.e. 6,000 euros per academic year. To the Niš location article.

How high the credit placement turns out depends on the individual case

All pathways named here are designed to enable you to achieve the highest possible credit placement through us — without or with minimal time loss. This only becomes binding after your documents are reviewed. As a rule of thumb: usually at most two exams may be outstanding whose ECTS points do not exceed a certain upper limit for the transfer to the next higher year of study to be possible. What the transfer means financially

Kyrgyzstan is at 3,400 to 8,000 US dollars per academic year. Foča costs 3,500 euros, Niš 6,000 euros. Depending on the starting address, the transfer is therefore price-neutral or even cheaper — the real gain lies in planning reliability. Living costs in Foča and Niš are realistically 450 to 500 euros per month. Our placement fee is success-based.

Why you should seek advice as early as possible

• Places are limited and are allocated in order of complete documentation.
• Deadlines are running: Malta starts in October, Foča in November, Niš accepts applicants quarterly.
• Documents from Central Asia require lead time. Anyone coming from a university that is no longer permitted to train students should request their transcript as early as possible.
