Study conditions and campus life
Das Studium dauert sechs Jahre. Die vorklinischen Jahre eins und zwei umfassen Anatomie, Physiologie, Biochemie, Histologie und Embryologie sowie Tschechischkurse. Ab dem dritten Jahr folgt der klinische Abschnitt mit Innerer Medizin, Chirurgie, Pädiatrie, Gynäkologie, Neurologie und Psychiatrie an den Brünner Universitätskliniken. Das sechste Jahr ist praktisch angelegt und entspricht dem deutschen PJ.

Recognition and career prospects
Der Abschluss der Medizinischen Fakultät der Masaryk-Universität in Brünn kommt aus Tschechien, einem Mitgliedstaat der Europäischen Union. Über die Berufsanerkennungsrichtlinie 2005/36/EG wird er in Deutschland automatisch anerkannt, sowohl der ärztliche Titel MUDr. nach sechs Jahren als auch der zahnärztliche MDDr. nach fünf. Eine Gleichwertigkeitsprüfung ist nicht vorgesehen, eine Kenntnisprüfung auch nicht.
Der nächste Schritt ist der Antrag bei der Approbationsbehörde des Bundeslandes, in dem du arbeiten willst. Dort wird ein Nachweis deutscher Sprachkenntnisse auf Fachsprachniveau verlangt. Die Bearbeitungsdauer ist je nach Bundesland verschieden, weshalb sich ein früher Kontakt mit der Behörde lohnt. Für Österreich übernimmt die Österreichische Ärztekammer diese Aufgabe, für die Schweiz die MEBEKO — dort gilt die EFTA-Regelung, die dasselbe Ergebnis bringt.
Danach kannst du dich um eine Stelle in der Facharztweiterbildung bewerben, an Kliniken und Praxen mit Weiterbildungsbefugnis, zu denselben Bedingungen wie Absolventen deutscher Fakultäten. Brünn ist die zweitgrößte Stadt Tschechiens und ein Universitätsstandort mit starker klinischer Anbindung. Wer nach dem Studium in Mähren bleiben möchte, kann das genauso tun, denn der Abschluss berechtigt in ganz Europa zur ärztlichen und zahnärztlichen Tätigkeit.
