The First Faculty of Medicine at Charles University is the oldest medical faculty in Central Europe, with a history dating back to 1348. Located in central Prague adjacent to the General University Hospital — one of the Czech Republic’s largest teaching hospitals — the faculty offers a six-year English-language Medicine programme with outstanding clinical exposure. - Medicine: The Medicine programme leads to the Czech medical degree (MUDr.), recognised as an MD equivalent throughout the EU. Students train at the General University Hospital in central Prague — one of Central Europe’s largest teaching hospitals.
Study conditions and campus life
The Medicine programme takes six years to complete. The first three years are devoted to the preclinical sciences — anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, histology, and pathology — taught in the faculty’s modern facilities. The final three years consist of clinical rotations at the General University Hospital and other affiliated hospitals in Prague, across all major medical specialties. Graduates receive the title MUDr., recognised as an MD equivalent throughout the EU.

Marcel Kloos
Federally recognised dentist, founder and owner of Medschool Experts
