Sarajevo School of Science and Technology was founded in 2004 and worked for many years in cooperation with the University of Buckingham. Its Sarajevo Medical School offers an English-taught Medicine programme over twelve semesters, leading to the Doctor of Medicine; there are also programmes in Dentistry, Pharmacy and Health Sciences. The pre-clinical phase takes place in the campus laboratories, and clinical training at the Clinical Centre of the University of Sarajevo and 14 further institutions. The first two years form the pre-clinical phase with anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, histology and embryology, taught in the campus laboratories. From the third year, clinical training begins with internal medicine, surgery, paediatrics, gynaecology, neurology and psychiatry at the Clinical Centre of the University of Sarajevo and 14 further institutions. The final year is predominantly practical and works like a full clinical internship year.
