MS Ramaiah Medical College, as a constituent college of MS Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, is recognised by India’s National Medical Commission (NMC), the statutory body responsible for the accreditation of medical education in India, as an institution permitted to award the MBBS degree. The NMC was awarded WFME Recognition Status by the World Federation for Medical Education on 20 September 2023 for a period of ten years (valid until September 2033), a recognition that automatically covers all medical colleges recognised by the NMC — the basis for the ECFMG’s “Recognized Accreditation Policy,” under which only graduates of programmes accredited by a WFME-recognised agency are eligible for ECFMG certification and, therefore, for the USMLE. MS Ramaiah Medical College holds this accreditation and is authorised to award its degree on this basis.
