Accreditations of Medical University of Lublin in Poland
Is Medical University of Lublin a state-accredited university? Yes. Polish universities are evaluated and accredited by the Polish Accreditation Committee (Polska Komisja Akredytacyjna, PKA), Poland’s state accreditation body. The PKA is recognised by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) as an accrediting agency (WFME recognition valid until September 2035) — the basis for the ECFMG’s “Recognized Accreditation Policy,” under which only graduates of programmes accredited by a WFME-recognised agency are eligible for ECFMG certification and, therefore, for the USMLE. In addition, Poland is listed on the National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation (NCFMEA) country list maintained by the U.S. Department of Education, which classifies the Polish accreditation system as comparable to that of the United States and can potentially give students access to U.S. federal student loans. Medical University of Lublin holds this state accreditation and is authorised to award its degrees on this basis.
